When compared to convetional models, the DocuColor 1256GA reproduces highlights more vividly, with more natural gradations and smoother curves, bringing image textures to life. At the same time, its colour management technology supports diverse colour needs with enhanced functions.
Implementing Fuji Xerox semi-conductor laser technology, the DocuColor 1256GA achieves high resolution to true 2400dpi. This enables the accurate printing proofs, comparable in quality to professional offset prints.
The DocuColor 1256GA supports flexible colour management which can be adjusted to best suit the user’s workflow. With CMYK ink simulation, colour matching feature allows users to specify pantone colours for different areas of the document.
The DocuColor 1256GA adopts the Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser to achieve high quality images comparable to those produced by offset printing.
To date, conventional laser technology had only been capable of writing up to two lines per scan. Using the Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser, the DocuColor 1256GA now boasts multi-beam capabilities which allow it to write up to a whopping 32 lines per each individual scan.
Unlike conventional edge-emitting lasers, Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser also emits light across the entire surface. This frees it from requiring a back beam during print by positioning the front beam and monitoring the amount of light required to prevent uneven print density. The system also control the position of each emitter, the amount of brightness in each beam and the print time required to produce high resolution, 2400dpi image printing.
Furthermore, it consumes less power than conventional optical exposure technologies capable of producing 2400dpi images.
Various additional technologies were developed and incorporated into the DocuColor 1256GA to enable it to achieve 2400dpi resolution. These include:
- Complete Linear Architecture + Advanced Pixel Process Equipment for Registration developed to improve the process of writing images.
- High Quality digital screen Micro Accurate Control Screen technology
- New Image Enhancement for high image quality
- New smile correction technology for image adjustment
- Multi-beam timing control technology for digital colour registration and high image control.
Process Control
This feature adjusts toner density by maintaining the electric potential of photo receptors at optimum conditions at all times, regardless of temperature and humidity changes
Trickle Development
The trickles development mechanism on the DocuColor 1256GA enables stable output quality regardless of volumes produced or print environment. This mechanism maintains an electrostatic charge in favourable conditions at all times, while simultaneous application of on-board “auto Tone Correction” enables hassle free stable output.
Editor Pad
The optional editor pad available with this device provides five main document editing capabilities:
- Colouring
- Single colour conversion
- Outline text
- Extraction
- Deletion
With these, specified sections of a copy job can be extracted and/or text and graphs coloured.
Wide range of media capabilities
With the use of an intermediate belt transfer, for the DocuColor 1256GA is capable of printing on a wide variety of media types and weights. These include coated paper, matte paper, postcards and OHP transparencies of up to 256gsm.
Post-Processing Options
Various optional, efficiency enhancing post-processing tools are also available with the DocuColor 1256GA. These include:
